I’m afraid you were aurally mislead. In the question “I’ve heard John Stewart is a tyrannical bastard. True?” the interviewer is clearly (in text) referring not to the genial host, but instead to the Green Lantern. And as was demonstrated in the Justice League episode “A Better World”, he can indeed be a tyrant.
Aw, who would ever accuse Jon Stewart of being anything other than a sweet, intelligent, talented, funny man? I mean, I don’t know the man. I went to a taping once about six years ago (hm, guess I’m due to go to another one). How could anyone hate on him, though? I just want to give him a big old hug.

1933, WASHINGTON, DC: Franklin Roosevelt broadcasts the first of his famous “Fireside Chats.” What radio listeners did not realize, however, was that Roosevelt was broadcasting to them from inside the fire. It warmed his lifeless legs. — MARCH 12
