I’M NOT NORMALLY ONE TO FAKE SWEAR TWO POSTS IN A ROW

BUT IN THIS CASE, I MUST SAY: Holy Eff.

YOU MAY BLAME COULTON for my recent absence from the imitation blog. He gave me a copy of Little Big Planet, and I have been absorbed into it, TRON-LIKE, for much of the weekend.

(THAT IS, IF TRON were all sock puppets and sculpey and ottomans, and instead of lightcycles you had jumping Dia De Los Muertos skulls and sponges on ropes.)

BUT IT WAS CHARLIE SHOPSIN who told me about this: A PERSON WHO BUILT AN ELECTRONIC CALCULATOR using only objects found within the game’s level editor.

BEGIN QUOTED VIDEO

END QUOTED VIDEO

SURE, ENJOY THE SIMPLE MATH, but if you do not watch to see the full reveal of the machine’s remarkable guts, I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU.

THAT IS ALL

  3. You are mistaken, sir. The device is in fact a MECHANICAL calculator. Regardless, the builder has WAY too much “effing” time on his/her hands.

Unfortunately, we’re too busy playing backgammon and knitting to find out otherwise.

  10. When will we be seeing levels designed by you? Also, is your sackboy excessively tweedy (sorry if that’s too personal a question)?

  11. That’s incredible. I’ve always wondered if it was possible to make something like this in LBP. ALWAYS. This will increase my addiction even more. I already build levels in my head while trying to fall asleep, for fuck’s sack. Er, sake.

  12. That game sucked the life right out of me, I played it until I couldn’t function in the real world anymore. I kept trying to have skin made of fabric.

The person who put that together is fantastic.
