UNION SQUAREIANS
OH UNION SQUAREIANS, undivided, equal sided, I THANK YOU.
IT WAS A DELIGHT to meet you at last night’s reading.
AND I AM EVER GRATEFUL to be your bases-ball pre-game show.
That is all.

I laughed so hard that after the reading I got hiccups and had to wander around the university press section until they passed. And if you’re interested, here’s a picture I drew before the reading (of the Gulliver’s Travels print by Mark Summers behind the stage): http://drawmo.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/world-series-metaphor.jpg
Thanks for a great night that eased the pain of (I suspect) many Mets fans, John.

You are correct, sir.
The Legion of Super-Heroes did maintain (will establish) a training academy at Montauk Point.
Thank you for setting me straight. This is information that I certainly require.
I will return to my studies.

Thank you for signing my (your) book (to(for) me).
You wrote “For Anna, a palindrome.”
Were you aware that that is exactly how Demetri Martin signed my shirt when I met him? I suspect you weren’t unless I made a bigger impression on that man than I suspected at the time and he told you about me and told you to write it to me as a secret nod that he had not forgotten me and would like to take me to dinner. But this is most likely not the case and so I am left to wonder, what kind of secret society are you both in that worships reflective symmetry? And how can I join?
Sincerely, Anna
