FROM THE COMMENTS: A GIGANTIC HAND

FROM THE COMMENTS….

REGARDING FRESCA, eliterrell writes: “LBJ had a Frescaman? Where I come from, we call those FRESCAMOS.”

DULY NOTED!

REGARDING UNION SQUARE, audience member MARGARET writes: “And if you’re interested, here’s a picture I drew before the reading (of the Gulliver’s Travels print by Mark Summers behind the stage):”

DULY ADMIRED!

MEANWHILE: please note: I will be in Kansas City tomorrow night, and tickets are going away quickly for my appearance with Merlin Mann HERE.

That is all.

IF YOU DO NOT KNOW, this is the method whereby computer robots determine that you are not yourself a computer robot.

(A COMPUTER ROBOT ALWAYS KNOWS)

APPARENTLY, the two words you are forced to re-type in order to prove your humanity have gotten increasingly, poetically bizarre.

SUCH AS TODAY’S UNCANNY DUO: “Flesh Transamerica.”

WHICH ITSELF sounds like a bad robot translation of the simple human plea: “Please. None of us out here is a robot.”

That is all.

FROM THE COMMENTS

COMMENTER “STARDATE”  points out something from yesterday’s footage of SEEGER, HUMBLE AND TRIUMPHANT that I UNFORGIVABLY OVERLOOKED:

BEGIN quoted text.

That’s a wonderful thing. Also, while watching it, this happened:

CUT TO:

GEORGE LUCAS (human, mid-60s), singing and swaying in the crowd. CHEWBACCA is nowhere to be seen.

EVERYONE WATCHING ONLINE:
(double-take)
Holy s#!t, was that George Lucas? Did we just blow up the Death Star?

PLURALITY OF AMERICANS:
Sort of feels that way, doesn’t it?

AN EWOK:
Yub nub!

END quoted text.

THANK YOU for staying up late, Stardate.

IT IS SO. The camera actually did cut to George Lucas during that song. I glossed it over in my own memory, because it sounded such an off note.

NOT BECAUSE LUCAS does not deserve this moment of joy. This land belongs, after all, to him and me.

BUT BECAUSE ADDING GEORGE LUCAS, INCONGRUOUSLY, TO THE MIX made it very difficult for me to convince myself that I was actually awake, and this was not a weird dream.

That is all.
