THE APPLIANCE OF THE EIGHTIES
I HAD NOT REALIZED IT, but according to the INTERNET:
MR. DICK CAVETT and I have more in common than merely my audioback book.
WITNESS:
THAT IS ALL.

I AM RETURNED FROM THE TOUR, and I shall be posting photographs soon,
INCLUDING ONE OF ME standing before an ICONIC PROP OF TELEVISION.
BUT FIRST I MUST DECOMPOST this desk, and meanwhile ask
YOU ARE PERFECTLY AWARE, aren’t you, that DICK CAVETT is blogging for the NEW YORK TIMES?
IF NOT, make yourself instantly aware by clicking HERE.
That is all.
MY FRIEND PHIL is in Omaha.
THERE HE SAW THIS YOUNG MAN reading an important book.

OBSERVATIONS ABOUND, such as
A) THIS WONDERFUL BOOK IS STILL IN PRINT
B) PEOPLE IN OMAHA GIVE PRINT BOOKS THE THUMBS UP
C) BRUCE’S PAPERBACK IS SO MUCH INCREDIBLY LONGER THAN MINE (which comes out Nov 3, by the way).
WHICH IS TO SAY, Bruce really wrote the boomstick out of that book, and I am glad for him.
That is all.
POST SCRIPT: “JAMES” from the comments also observes the obvious: “D) OMAHA COFFEE HOUSES DO NOT ALLOW READERS TO SIT INSIDE.”
