Regardless of the business that you are in, you always want to make yourself stand out from the competitors. Anything that will give you a leg up on the competition should be contemplated and considered. Here are just a few ways you can make your company become more elite so both your customers and your employees will want to be associated with it.
You cannot run a successful company where everyone gets a medal regardless of performance. Unfortunately, in school nowadays, most kids get recognized positively whether they are doing things well or not. This cannot happen with your company. Recognize and reward those that are going above and beyond with achievement after achievement. You could reward your best employee with a special team building activity (like a cool nerf war, for example). On the other hand, for those that are not performing well and seem to be down on the company, don’t be afraid to make some changes. Eliminating a couple naysayers could have a positive effect on all the other employees.
Offer Deals for the Customers that Stick with You
Customers can be tough to come by. Make sure that your customers that give you repeat business know how much they are valued. If you don’t, they could be leaving you for the competition. Give them discounts every now and then or send them a special offer. Taking ten percent off a bill once in a while won’t kill you and they will appreciate it. We all want the best price we can get while still receiving quality products and service. Keep offering your customers that frequent you often a reason to stick with you.
Keep All of Your Equipment Up to Date
No matter if your company offers a service or product, having solid equipment to use in the workplace will keep your employees happy. No one wants to work for a company that does not value its employees enough to give them top notch equipment to work with. If your company provides IT support, give them top notch computer equipment. If you use cutting tools for your company as they are in the manufacturing business or offer some service that needs sharp tools, provide them this. By keeping your employees happy, they will keep a more positive outlook at their job in general.
Service with a Smile
Smiling at someone and offering a kind word does not cost your company a thing. In a world where kind words seem to be few and far between, your business can help change that.
