Vaping has been all over the news lately. Some claim it’s a miracle cure to cigarette addiction. While others call it an epidemic that can lead to serious lung illnesses.

With so much polarization out there, it’s hard to really know what’s going on. Luckily for you, we’ve compiled the most important pros and cons of vaping so you can make your own educated decision. Continue reading to see what the biggest advantages and disadvantages of vaping really are.

The Pros of Vaping

There are a number of positives to vaping. Let’s look at perhaps the biggest benefit.

1. It’s Safer than Smoking

The biggest pro for vaping is that, despite what your grandmother may have heard on the radio, it is healthier than smoking.

The Royal College of Physicians is a highly respected organization made up of over 35,000 doctors around the world. According to their research, vaping is at least 95% safer than smoking cigarettes.

The reason for this? When you vape, there’s no ash, tar, or combustion.

This means that a smoker who switches to vaping will experience an improved sense of taste and smell as well as better lung capacity, skin health, oral hygiene, and circulation. So you can breathe in deep and do some MTL vaping without worry.

2. No Noxious Odors

One of the things so many people hate about tobacco products is the smell. That probably is totally gone when you switch to vaping. Yes, vaping may leave behind some of the aromas from the vape juice but that’s way more preferable to burnt tobacco leaves.

Many people even like the smell of vape smoke. And even if your vape juice is tobacco flavored, it’s going to smell a heck of a lot nicer than the real thing.

3. Control Over Nicotine Amounts

Many vaping detractors say that the high amounts of nicotine can be harmful to the user. However, people who vape have complete control over the nicotine content in their device. They can purchase e-juice that is high-strength nicotine or they can get juice that has no nicotine at all.

For people who are quitting cigarettes, they tend to start with high levels of nicotine and then work their way down.

4. It’s Affordable

No matter your budget level, there is a vaping device out there that you can afford. This is unlike cigarettes, which cost crazy high amounts depending on where you live.

The popularity of vaping has led to plenty of competition. This means all sorts of companies offer products at lower and lower prices in order to attract your attention. Even if you just have a few bucks on you, you can find a vape that is ready for immediate use.

5. No experience needed

Although there are several advanced vaping devices on the market, there are also plenty of vapes that are designed for the first-time vaper. Beginner vape starter kits and pod vapes are perfect examples of this.

Some of these devices are draw-activated. That means that all you have to do is suck in and it will engage automatically.

The Cons of Vaping

As great as vaping may seem to so many, it certainly has its drawbacks too. Let’s take a look at some of them below.

1. We Don’t Know the Long-Term Effects

Vaping is a relatively recent craze among the nicotine industry. Because of this, doctors and scientists aren’t totally sure what the long-term effects of vaping are.

Some of the reports are scary though. According to a report from Harvard, 200 users of e-cigarettes were hospitalized due to severe lung diseases. We don’t know if vaping was necessarily the cause but doctors suspect their lungs were irritated by the process.

2. It’s Addictive

Nicotine is a highly addictive substance. And although nicotine may not share the same harmful effects as tobacco, it’s never good to be addicted to a substance. Addiction can lead to erratic behavior, poor judgment, and other problems.

3. Kids Are Doing It

According to that same Harvard report, over 3 million middle school and high school students have tried vaping. Many people claim that this is the intention of the vaping companies. They want children to become addicted so they will become loyal purchasers as they get older.

Many vape juices are candy-flavored and packaged in ways that definitely seem to be targeting young people. Politicians are now starting to implement laws to stop the marketing of certain flavors because of this.

4. Costs Can Add Up

All addictive items demand repeat purchases. No matter how your vape kit is configured, you’re always at least going to have to continuously purchase vape juice. And the more you vape, the more you’re going to have to buy.

Some people have started concocting their own vape juices in order to save money. But this also comes with health risks plus additional purchases.

5. Vapers Are Looked Down Upon

Many people view vaping as another form of smoking. And the over-the-top scary headlines in the newspapers haven’t helped. Signs continue to be added to different locations stating “no vaping” even though vaping doesn’t have the same effects as cigarettes.

This stigma against vapers doesn’t seem like it’s going to go away anytime soon.

The Importance of Knowing the Pros and Cons of Vaping

By knowing the pros and cons of vaping, you can make more informed decisions about your own lifestyle. You shouldn’t let other people dictate to you how to live your life but instead do research to learn the facts.
