Are you worried you have a spider infestation that could be dangerous to you or your family? Often, people find a house spider and learn about their eight legs or spindly body later when they Google it. You may have already seen some of these things or are noticing some strange behavior around your house

Don’t be too alarmed, and stay calm. Spiders, which have approximately 45,000 species, are masters of adaptation. Most of them won’t cause you harm, especially if you live in the south.

Some pests could, and you want to be sure of the signs. Here, we’ll cover the top signs to watch for. Keep these things in mind the next time you’re in your home and notice something strange.

1. Spider Web

Spider webs appear in a variety of shapes and sizes, including mini-cob webs, fine webbing, and thick, rope-like webs that stretch across an entire area. Spider webs are usually found in dark and undisturbed areas, corners, ceilings, and window and door frames. Look for cobwebs or fine web threads in these areas.

If you see spider webs, it’s a good sign that there is a spider problem in your home. Seek professional help if you suspect there is a spider infestation in your home.

2. Egg Sacs

Spider egg sacs vary in size and color depending on the spider species, but they all share a few common aspects. They are found in sheltered, moist areas such as the side of a building, in the crevice of furniture, and in the corner of a storage area.

They are often gray or beige-ish, sometimes with a papery texture, containing hundreds of eggs, and are covered in thick, silk-like webbing. If shaken, the egg sac might jostle as the eggs shift within.

3. Unexplained Bites on Skin

Spiders are known to be one of the sunny sunflower pests that have 8 legs, and 8 eyes and are carnivorous. If you find bites on your body, it could be a sign of a spider infestation as some spiders are known to bite humans. You may even find what looks like tiny red marks on your skin, which could be the bite marks of certain spiders.

You may also experience swelling in the area of the bite. If you believe that you are living in an area where common spiders are prevalent, it is important to take action immediately to keep yourself and your family safe from further infestation.

4. Spider Droppings

Spider droppings will take the form of small, dark, and irregularly shaped spots. The droppings appear as a bit of a mess, like pepper or dirt scattered across surfaces. Spider droppings have a different odor than that of other insects, which may help identify a spider infestation.

These droppings can often be confused with other small insect droppings. The key difference is that spider droppings are composed of two parts, unlike the one-piece droppings from other insects.

Spider droppings may contain small fragments of cobwebs and other debris from the spiders’ webs. If these droppings are noticed on furniture, walls, and floors, it’s a good idea to inspect the area further for more signs.
